"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves." – Viktor Frankl
Life can feel overwhelming, like you’re constantly trying to keep up but never quite finding ease. You might struggle with focus, motivation, or being present. Maybe you feel disconnected—either from yourself or others—longing for deeper relationships but unsure how to get there. Perhaps self-doubt, overthinking, or a harsh inner critic keep you stuck. Or maybe life transitions have left you feeling lost and uncertain about your next step.
I work with people to unpack the nature of their struggles, understand what these challenges may be communicating, and find meaningful ways to move forward. Some of the concerns I commonly work with include, but are not limited to:
-
Anxiety, ADHD, and the constant mental noise that makes it hard to focus or relax
-
Feeling lost, aimless, or disconnected from yourself and what truly matters
-
Self-doubt, overthinking, and a relentless inner critic that keeps you stuck
-
Loneliness, relationship struggles, or difficulty connecting with others
-
Navigating life transitions, uncertainty, and the fear of making the “wrong” choice
-
Patterns of perfectionism, people-pleasing, or seeking external validation for self-worth
-
Using work, food, shopping, or other distractions to cope with discomfort
My approach is integrative and tailored to you. We’ll explore how past experiences shape your present, the narratives you tell yourself, and the different parts of you that show up in your thoughts and emotions. Alongside this deeper work, we’ll focus on practical strategies—building self-awareness, challenging unhelpful patterns, and reconnecting with yourself and others.
Above all, I bring warmth, curiosity, and honesty to our work. Together, we’ll create a space where you can explore your challenges without judgment and start moving toward a life that feels more fulfilling and aligned with who you are.
Emma Hough MACP, RP (Q), RCC

Hi, I’m Emma. My passion has always been people—understanding people, supporting people, and making sure they feel heard.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent several years working one-on-one with children with special needs, which deepened my understanding of accessibility and the power of the right support. My studies in Psychology and Family & Child Studies reinforced my interest in mental health, leading me to pursue a Master’s in Counselling Psychology. Along the way, I worked in neurotechnology, exploring how neurofeedback can enhance meditation, sleep, and well-being.
Outside the therapy room, you can usually find me playing volleyball, going on long walks, cooking, or searching for my next favourite TV show. I love exploring new places and experiencing different ways of life. Throughout my life I’ve lived in Spain, Indonesia, and British Columbia, but now I call Toronto home.
If you think we’d work well together, I’d love to connect. Feel free to book a free consultation, and I look forward to meeting you.
